Jim Thorpe picked up its first win of the season, defeating Williams Valley, 18-25, 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 15-6, in a non-league match.

Brittany Holland had a huge performance at the net with 15 kills for the Olympians. Amanda Petrin was the defensive star with 15 digs while setter Lauren Mason had 27 assists.

In the JV match, Williams Valley was a 25-21, 23-25, 25-17 winner.

A consistent serve is always a key component in any volleyball match.

Just ask Sarah Lesisko, who currently holds the program’s record for consecutive service points (17) at Tamaqua Area High School.

Her team’s serving skills helped lead the Blue Raiders to victory last night, as they topped their Schuylkill League Division I opponent Jim Thorpe, 25-12, 25-13, and 25-7.
