Jim Thorpe Little League founding fathers honored

Two of the original five Jim Thorpe Little League founding fathers participated in Opening Day ceremonies Saturday, April 24 at McGarvey's Field in Jim Thorpe. The founding fathers were being honored for their role in organizing the League in the late 1940s. Pictured are Founding Fathers Joe Tessitore and Joe Hoehing and representing Xavior "X" Wernett are his daughters, Karen Brickley and Sharon Hontz, and representing William "Righter" Reabold is his son, William Jr. Standing behind the honorees are Jim Thorpe Little League Board Members Mike Snisky, Bernie Schweibinz, president, and Ken Snerr. Allen "Hanna" Morgan was also honored for his role in founding Jim Thorpe Little League. A sign was unveiled under the scoreboard at McGarvey's Field to honor the founders and both Tessitore and Hoehing threw out ceremonial first pitches.
